H1N1
Vaccination Clinic at Seneca East Schools
November 23, 2009
Dear Parents,
Attached
please find information from the Seneca County Health Department
regarding the H1N1 vaccination clinic. The clinic will be held
at the school on Monday, November 23 beginning
at 9:00 a.m. Because of the limited number of vaccinations available
to the health department, this clinic is limited to students
and staff of the school district.
Please
be reminded of the following:
1. If
you wish for your child to receive the vaccination, you must
complete and sign the consent form labeled “Seneca County
General Health District 2009 H1N1 Influenza Vaccine”. No
child will receive the vaccination without the parental consent
form.
2. You
are not required to have your child receive the vaccination.
Please read the information provided by the health department
in order to decide if you want your child to receive the vaccine.
3. We
will administer the vaccinations in order from the youngest children
to the oldest. Classes will be sent to the auditeria stage to
receive the vaccinations. Health department employees will be
administering the vaccinations.
4. Parents
of younger children who wish to be present during the vaccinations
may do so. Please check in at the front office and proceed to
the stage. We do not have exact timelines for each class that
may be receiving the vaccinations, so we cannot schedule a specific
time when your child may be next.
5. Children
under the age of 10 years old will need to receive a second vaccination
four weeks later. We have not been told whether the second shots
will be available at the school or not. We will notify you as
soon as we are told about any follow-up clinics.
6. There
is no cost to you for this vaccination.
7. All
information being mailed is also available to you at the school’s
website (www.senecaeast.net) and at the health department website
(www.senecahealthdept.org) .
Because
of the number of vaccinations that need to take place during
the clinic, health department staff members will not be available
for individual questions or meetings. If you have any questions,
please contact the Seneca County Health Department at (419) 447-3691
prior to the clinic.
We understand
the timeline for notifying you about the clinic is very short.
The health department notified the district as soon as they were
aware that they had enough vaccine to provide for all of our
students. We appreciate your cooperation in working with such
a short timeline.
